Program Overview:
Anterior composites can be a challenge for dentists of any level; however, their successful implementation can be deeply satisfying for both the clinician and patient. This Master Series is all about the delivery of aesthetics and anterior composites – a critical skill to master in any general or cosmetic practice. More and more patients are seeking minimally invasive cosmetic solutions and direct resins play a crucial role in achieving this objective. This program will focus on the fundamentals of planning and restoring the anterior dentition. Including: smile design, shade matching, composite manipulation, finishing and polishing, and smile maintenance.
Course Outcomes:
Understand the elements behind a beautiful smile
Comfortably implement smile design principles
Perform high-end shade matching with advanced photographic techniques
Fabricate silicone keys with confidence to assist in a predictable workflow
Know your composite – material properties and science
Execute the bilaminar technique to achieve an aesthetic result with 2 shades of composite
Learn how to use matrices in the anterior for proper contour
Learn and Implement injection moulding where appropriate
Create a photo-ready polish that will leave your patients in awe
Mentoring and guidance on any direct anterior restorative case you wish to bring for discussion

Live-Hands On Workshop Content:
• Practise fabricating a silicone index and palatal key
• Practise restoring the fractured anterior tooth (Class IV)
• Practise the bilaminar technique for simplified anterior restorations
• Practise injection moulding for anterior rehabilitation
• Practise restoring the ‘anterior six’ (13-23)
About Speaker:
Dr Varun Garg
Dr. Garg completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2007. After working as a general dentist for few years in Perth, Australia, he started his postgraduate training at the University of Melbourne in 2015. During the postgraduate program he was awarded with the Dr. Steele Award for outstanding clinical skills and received his Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Prosthodontics) in 2017. He enjoys all aspects of prosthodontics but has special interest in aesthetic, reconstructive and implant dentistry.
